Japan Trip Notes - final
Bah, I leave today. That kinda sucks majorly. Osaka was great, even though I didn't do anything but hang out in the park with performing artists (the salaryman who came every night to practice his trumpet because his wife would get mad at him for playing in the house was particularly hilarious). And all around the world homeless guys are more talented than the new pop artist of the week, which says a lot about the state of the world.
The reason I didn't do much is because my feet were (and still are) killing me, so the second day in Osaka I went to see back to back movies. Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (I didn't know what the heck was going on for that entire film, what a mess), Spiderman 3 (seeing Tobey Maguire try to look cool is definitely worth 10 bucks, come on now), The Reaping (lol), and Babel, which was good, I think - I can't read Japanese subtitles fast enough to keep up.
After Osaka I went to Mount Koya, which was quiet and nice, it was good to meet some small town folk again. Morning prayer at 6:00 though? ちょっと...
Back to Tokyo. Hung out at my hostel for most of the time. Way too many English people here, so I always slip back into the embarrassing accent. Partied with some drunk Irish guys, and some Australian people who ranted the whole evening about Americans. Was hit on by a pretty nice looking Frenchman and...
actually that's about it, because I ran out of money. Thank you used doujinshi shop in Ikebukuro. Ikebukuro is my new favourite place to be, I think. Or would be, were I not leaving.
It will be good to be back, though. I'm tired of packing all this luggage around.
